Road Construction

Hevey Civil Engineering has constructed thousands of meters of roadway and has undertaken many types of road building projects, including:

  • Motorways
  • Access Roads
  • Agricultural Laneways
  • Windfarm access tracks

 

We provide two different and distinct types of Road Construction

The first is a ‘traditional’ method of road construction that involves excavating down to the ‘solid formation level’, followed by the laying and compaction of suitable stone on top of the excavated ground. The base course is then finished in concrete, asphalt or macadam. M3 motorway is an example, from our portfolio, of this type of road construction.  

The second type is called a “floating road construction system”. With this method, there are no excavation and waste disposal costs. The existing ground forms the foundation, with Terram and Geogrid placed on top, before the addition of the required stone. This road system can support up to 80 Tonnes per m2.

Here at Hevey Civil Engineering, our team of experienced and skilled professionals will provide quality and cost effective Equine Construction Services, designed to suit your specific needs and specifications.
